Our Work

Squishymedia has been the lead developer on the OpenNeuro project since its inception in 2016. In the three years since the first release OpenNeuro has become the ‘go-to’ repository for neuroimaging datasets for researchers worldwide.

OpenNeuro contains over 35TB of data and has over 11,000 combined data contributors and users sharing MRI, EEG, iEEG, MEG, ECoG, and PET datasets.

This standardization enhances the utility of shared datasets by facilitating standards-based reuse of the datasets as well as assisting in reproducibility and repeatability projects.

The platform will soon support additional validation functionality for privacy standards compliance, as well as more detailed evaluation of dataset contents.

Incoming datasets on OpenNeuro are validated against the BIDS Specification to ensure datasets are compliant with community standards for data management.

Each dataset is stored and presented using standardized metadata vocabularies, making it easier for researchers to find and understand datasets relevant to their work.

We use open metadata standards to ensure visibility of the datasets on search engines and to facilitate standards-based meta-analysis projects and data reuse whenever possible.

Thousands of flight operations are conducted each year by civilian government agencies across the US. Reporting hazards, incidents, maintenance issues, and airspace incidents is crucial for safe and efficient government aviation operations.

The SAFECOM reporting system is managed by the Department of Interior and the US Forest Service to enable efficient and detailed reporting, dissemination, and safety improvements across federal aviation operations

Squishymedia supported a legacy version of the SAFECOM system, then built and deployed an updated SAFECOM system in 2020. A clean user interface and design leads to a better user experience and more reliable data collection.

Built on a high-availability cloud platform, with accessibility and mobile compatibility in mind, the new SAFECOM system makes it easy for aviation professionals to submit SAFECOMs and streamlines the interagency review process used to manage and publish SAFECOMs to the federal aviation community.

An easy-to-use and highly accurate dietary tracking tool. Squishymedia gave the existing tool a contemporary interface while also making it 508 compliant, mobile compatible, and usable on modern browsers and web technologies.

The Automated Self-Administered 24-hour Recall (ASA24) is a web-based tool that allows researchers, healthcare professionals, and teachers to collect dietary data for hundreds of scientists who are studying how diet interacts with cancer treatment and remission.

With so many users, it’s essential that the interface be as easy-to-use as possible on any device.

ASA24 allows participants to enter detailed food intakes that log what they've had to eat and drink for either a 24-hour period or over a multi-day period. Squishymedia worked with the client to establish user workflows and create new user journeys to facilitate in the capture of a users food intake.

Squishymedia updated the meal logging interface and experience giving users easier access to stored meals and a fast and user-friendly food and portion search.

With any app there are learning curves for the wide range of users. Squishymedia implemented detailed tutorials for each part of the meal tracking to ensure ASA24 users entered data compliant with rigorous study methodologies. Each portion of the application has a tutorial section that walks the user through the activities they will be required to perform, making sure the data collection is easy and accurate.
